About A Family ChristmasThe idea for A Family Christmas website was born as our family searched the internet for activities that we could do together as a family at Christmas. Although there were some very good websites with unique ideas, we struggled to find one website that was a complete Christmas resource. As we started to put together our list of Christmas "stuff", we realized that other families may be looking for the same kind of information. And since we have a web developer in house, it was a "no-brainer" to put it all together into a website to share with other people. This website is intended to be a compilation of everything Christmas. Although we believe that Christmas should be centered around the true story of Christ the babe being born in Bethlehem so long ago, we have included resources here that are not strictly religious in nature. In our experience, the celebration of a Family Christmas may include non-religious elements, as long as the overall focus on Christ is not lost in the menagerie of secular fun and commercialism. With that said, we would be remiss if we neglected to direct people to the true meaning of Christmas, without which, there would be no celebration in the first place. Much of this meaning can be seen in the Christmas Symbols section, which explains what many of the traditional symbols of Christmas represent. But we would like you to read the Real Story of Christmas from the Bible before venturing into the rest of what the Christmas season holds. And as you read, remember that the love that spawned Christmas in the first place is the same love that led to the reason we celebrate Easter. We could not have one without the other. We wish your family a very Merry and Blessed Christmas together. |
